CVQA Small Groups

CVQA SMALL GROUPS
Small groups are gatherings of CVQA members with like interests in quilting-related topics who meet to enhance their skills and socialize.

Church Ladies
The Church Ladies are a group of CVQA members who enjoy participating in a sit & sew.  The group meets at St. Andrews Church in Franklin.  Meetings have been cancelled during COVID restrictions.

Evening Stars
The Evening Stars meet on the third Tuesday of each month.  Due to COVID restrictions, the meeting location will vary, but the group normally meets at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Barnabas Center in Franklin.  Social time is from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM.  The program is from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Programs consist of small projects, new quilting techniques, or charity projects.

Fiber Arts
Fiber Arts meets every third Thursday at 10:00 AM.  Currently, the group is meeting at a member’s home where they can safely engage in social distancing.  The group shares ideas, information about events in the area, and has a show and tell period.

Nimble Thimbles
Nimble Thimbles is for CVQA members who like to handpiece and/or hand quilt.  The group meets on the third Thursday of the month from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.  Meetings are on Zoom.  If you would like a Zoom invitation, send your request to CVQAmail2@gmail.com.

Spring Hill Sit & Sew
This sit & sew is made up mostly of CVQA members who live in the Spring Hill area but anyone is invited to join.  For the last few years, the members have pieced and quilted homespun quilts for charity using fabric from the Community Care Committee.  They are looking forward to using other quilting fabrics soon. The group will resume meeting on the second Tuesday of the month after COVID restrictions have ended.

Contact the Second Vice-President if you are interested in forming a new small group. Contact CVQAmail2@gmail.com for further information about these small groups.
